Nelson is a Vice President and Community Development Officer for PNC Bank. In this position he is responsible for increasing business partnerships with nonprofit community organizations in the Philadelphia area as well as sourcing lending and investing opportunities and the provision of financial education. He rises to the challenge of meeting established Community Development Banking goals by persistently working with a strong network of PNC volunteers and dozens of community organizations for the delivery of hundreds of financial literacy classes each year. He is also responsible for the administration and distribution of Foundation grants and sponsorships. Nelson joined PNC in September 2007. Prior to joining PNC, he was a Senior Loan Officer at Citizens Mortgage Corporation where he originated over $60 million in CRA eligible residential mortgage loans.
Nelson is involved with many professional organizations and serves as on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: Housing Equality Center of Pennsylvania, Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania, Willow Grove CDC, and Credit Counseling Center.
Nelson has been married to his wife Emily for 33 years and they have a son, Alexander. He volunteers as a basketball referee and Sunday School Teacher.
